Please return your small group book to room 214 when school is back in session!
Below are some commonly asked questions:
Q. How do I know how many pages to read per week? A. Since different students have different books, there is no one correct answer to this question: your number of pages is individualized to your small group book. To figure out your number, take the number of pages in your book, divided by 7. This number is how many pages you need to read each week (reading should be completed by Monday of every week). Q. How does my reading log change during the last week of reading? A. The format of your letter will change during the final week of your small group book. Follow this format: Letter: One page in length; write a summary of the entire book; give the book a rating on a scale of 1-5 (5 stars is the highest, 1 star is the lowest); be sure to explain why you rated the book the way you did Questions: Write three questions about the entire novel; these questions should get your group to reflect on the novel as a whole; they can all be open questions this week Q. What does ICE stand for? A. I= Introduce your quote (The text states...) C= Cite your quote (author's last name page #) E= Explain your quote (This quote shows me...) |
